Sean Mcpherson

After listening to Sean Mcpherson speak in class the other day, I have changed my approach towards succeeding in the music business.  I mean that in the sense that I never really thought of needing an approach.  I'm confident in going out and making things happen but sometimes my efforts seem random and lack cohesion.  Sean conveyed a lot of good ideas about the importance of being well-rounded, as well as to always make sure that you get paid what your worth.  But what I took away more than that, was to think about my approach and to have plan all the while maintaining as much flexibility as possible.  His insight drawn from his personal career help to unveil some of what to expect in the future as a musician and band leader in this community.  Another idea that still resonates was how he stressed the importance of keeping a professional business attitude.  I agree with that because in my own experience people won't spend much money for unprofessionalism.  Overall, I found what Sean had to say very helpful for my current spot in the music community.
